  • Advising clients on customs laws and regulations and agreements with other foreign governments;

  • Advising clients concerning the application of U.S. imposed economic sanctions against exports and reexports (shipping U.S. products from one foreign country to another foreign country) of U.S. products to certain countries, including U.S. products incorporated into non-U.S. products;

  • Assisting clients to obtain export and reexport licenses;

  • Representing parties in unfair trade proceedings, including antidumping proceedings;

  • Providing advice to sovereign and private sector clients during multilateral, regional and bilateral negotiations;

  • Assisting clients on international commercial contracts, asset-based financing and registration of foreign created security interests under U.S. law;

  • Advising clients on immigration and nationality law and U.S. processing procedures relating to visas and permits; and

  • Representing clients in international litigation, international arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

The firm regularly assists clients in matters arising under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), The World Trade Organization (WTO), The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and other international agreements. Our attorneys are involved in trade related issues before various government agencies such as the Departments of Commerce and State and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

The firm has counseled clients through the complex maze of rules and regulations relating to the import and export of products, and has assisted clients in addressing foreign government-imposed restrictions which limit access to foreign markets.
